Viera / Suntree Area on
Florida's Space Coast
Viera is a brand new community.
When complete it will be home to
approximately 40,000
residents and will cover 38,000 acres.
Brevard
County's government complex is located here, and
includes the Brevard County School Board and the
Moore Justice Center.
The
brand new Viera High
School has been built to handle the growing number
of
students. This state-of-the-art school is
convenient to all residents of Viera and Suntree.
Shopping in Viera is
excellent with The Avenue Viera. This open-air
mall has 50 shops, with big names such as
Kohls, Old Navy, Chico's, and Belk's. All that
shopping can get people hungry. The
Avenue has 11 eateries from Chili's and Panera
Bread to Mimi's Café and Cold
Stone Creamery.
 Also
located at The Avenue is The Rave, a 16-screen cinema with stadium seating, Viera is home to Space
Coast Stadium, the Spring Training Center for the
Washington Nationals and the Minor League, Brevard
Manatees.
Next to the Space Coast
Stadium is the VA Clinic.
This $25 million dollar complex has the
latest high-tech medical equipment.
Viera is also watching construction of a
new hospital associated with Health First. This
will bring the newest of facilities to the neighborhood and give access to
the largest hospital in the area.
New construction abounds
everywhere you turn. There
are numerous single-family subdivisions through
out Viera offering pre-existing homes and new
construction. The
newest public golf course
in Brevard is the Duran Golf Club. This
beautifully laid-out course has become a favorite for locals and golfers all over Central
Florida.
 The Suntree community has a
variety of housing possibilities.
The apartments, town homes and
single-family homes are all set within beautifully
planned subdivisions. There
are planned urban developments with reasonably
priced homes. The area also has a golf course, and tennis and racquetball
courts. There's a guard gated golf community
called Baytree with a semi-private golf course
designed by Gary Player. This community offers
many golf front homes on a moderate to grand
scale.
There are numerous shopping
centers located along Wickham Rd.. Vacant
commercial land is also available for new
businesses relocating to the area.  The Brevard Zoo is located
in the Suntree area. This zoo is broken into 4
distinct zones; Africa, Austral-Asia, South
America, and Florida.
The zoo is home to 550 animals from rhinos,
giraffes, kangaroos, tapirs, and alligators to
unique birds such as the cassowary and the
majestic bald eagle, and is growing yearly with a
great deal of community support. Gannet
Publications producing the USA Today and the
Florida Today also makes it's home in the Suntree area.
