Satellite Beach
and Indian Harbour Beach, FLA
The
communities of Indian Harbour Beach &
Satellite Beach are located just south of Patrick
Air Force Base, about 15 minutes south of Cocoa
Beach, Florida. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean
and the Banana River, over 7,700 residents make
their home in Indian Harbour and considerably more
in Satellite Beach. These small communities offer
residents a small town atmosphere within an ideal
tropical setting.
There are several
parks in the area.
Lansing
Gleason Park: This 27 acre park in Indian
Harbour Beach has a boardwalk overlooking a lake ,
paved jogging trails with physical challenges
along the way, and a playground area with picnic
benches. It's the perfect place for skateboarding
or a nice walk around the lake.
On
the same property is the Indian Harbour Beach
Recreational Center which hosts numerous community
activities each month. There is also a community
pool for exercising or just cooling off year-
round.
Centennial
Park: This oceanfront park offers free
parking, a picnic area and a boardwalk looking
over the Atlantic Ocean.
Along State Road
A-1-A, which runs north/south, there are a few
hotels. This is more of a bedroom community than a
tourist destination. That is one of the reasons
that make it a great place to visit or to live.
There are a few places to shop for the basics like
groceries and such, but not too many boutiques.
There is Wal-Mart just off the Eau Gallie (518)
Causeway, Beall's and a host of smaller shops
scattered throughout the town and Harbour Landing
located off Pinetree Drive and State Road A-1-A.
There are some
nice restaurants as well as many smaller eateries
and casual places to dine. There are just a few
places for night life in Indian Harbour Beach and
Satellite Beach, but other clubs nearby.
Housing ranges
from low cost condominiums priced in the 80's to
multi-million dollar properties along the Banana
River and everything in between. There are also
canal homes that offer home owners access to the
Banana River.
