Rockledge, Cocoa & Port St. John, Florida

The Rockledge community, just south of Cocoa, is 45 minutes east of Orlando, 20 minutes from Port Canaveral, 20 minutes north of the Melbourne International Airport and just minutes from the beaches.  Rockledge covers approximately 10 square miles with its eastern edge bordering the Indian River Lagoon.

Rockledge is one of the oldest incorporated municipalities in Brevard County. With nearly 20,000 residents, the city of Rockledge boasts an excellent recreation and parks system. The city was well-planned to insure the protection of unique environments and residential neighborhoods.

While Rockledge is primarily a residential community, it does have a stable industrial base of clean, light industry as well as citrus groves. Rockledge also enjoys a wide variety of available commercial centers to meet the needs of its residents and has one hospital, four public schools, three private schools and churches of various denominations.

Cocoa, Florida is home to Brevard Community College and a variety of commercial enterprises, including everything from car dealerships to furniture outlets.

Housing in Cocoa is more affordable than other areas throughout the county with small condos starting in price in the mid $40s.  West Cocoa offers single family neighborhoods and larger tracks of land where people can keep houses on their property.

Port St. John, located just north of Cocoa and South of Titusville, had its beginnings as a bedroom community  with low cost housing.  In only a few short years, the area has grown dramatically. 

Several shopping plazas and the Gateway Center, a 117,000 square-foot, high-tech professional office park, are centrally located.  Hughes Satellite Division is currently under construction.  The business district in Port St. John includes mortgage companies, a bank, family medical centers and convenience stores.
